LabAdore Retrievers Rescue, Inc.Thank you for offering to be a foster parent for LabAdore Retrievers Rescue, Inc. Your purpose is to provide guidance for your foster pup in a safe, loving environment, which will help to prepare them for life as a member of a family. As a foster parent, you will be required to have an indoor housing area for your foster dog(s) in which you can place an appropriate sized crate. The crate should be used as little as possible, but often serves as calming, safe haven when animals first arrive and should be used anytime your foster dog(s) is without appropriate supervision. These dogs should be allowed to interact with you so they can learn to be a dependable, loving member of a family…Isolating them in a basement, garage or other area away from the family is not acceptable. In addition, when outside, your foster dog(s) must either be kept within a secure fence or on a leash. All outdoor activity must be supervised at all times. At NO time should your foster dog(s) be left alone in the presence of the other resident/visiting dogs or restrained by means of tethering other than a handheld leash. Remember, these dogs have gone through a lot of recent changes and are probably stressed and confused. Keeping them safe, providing them with love and consistency, and helping them relax are our number one priorities. Please read the article in the following link:

I am also aware that by taking the animal into my home where other animals may be, there is a chance of spreading illness. Should any animal in my home become ill, I do not hold LabAdore Retrievers Rescue, Inc. responsible in any way. If I decide to keep this animal, I understand that I must follow the standard adoption procedure of any animal adopted by LabAdore Retrievers Rescue, Inc. including filling out the adoption application and submitting the appropriate adoption fees. I understand that any misrepresentation may result in not being approved to provide foster care and/or the removal of the foster pet from my home. Foster families accept liability for personal injuries or property damages caused by a rescue dog, whether to themselves, family members, or third parties, and agree to defend, indemnify and hold harmless Labadore Retrievers Rescue, Inc., its directors, officers, agents, servants and volunteers from all claims arising out of any such incidents involving the foster dog. Foster's agree, by submitting this application, that working with animals is unpredictable and the utmost caution must be taken in caring for foster animals. These dogs have been let down in the past and it is our responsibility to protect them and set them up for success in their new, forever homes. While the animal is living with a foster family, it will remain the property of LabAdore Retrievers Rescue, Inc. and therefore, all final decisions regarding the welfare of the animals will lie with the responsibility of the rescue. We provide the basic vetting care and costs, and often many of the supplies you need. Food can occasionally be provided, though many of the fosters choose to provide this themselves as part of their charitable giving. Please contact us if in need of food donations.
